RIDING LESSONS AT RIVENDELL FARM

Rivendell is a farm devoted to the exploration of the relationship between horse and rider. It is our goal to help you make that magical connection and let horses become a part of your life. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons for children and adults.

Our mission clearly is geared to more than just riding. We seek to help people, young and young at heart, who understand the emotional bond that can exist between horse and rider, and seek to find it.

Punctual arrivals are essential for obvious reasons. Scheduling the right horse for the right rider requires you to be there at the time reserved. Please respect the rights of the students who are waiting for their mounts to be groomed and cared for.

Instructions For Every Level Rider

Children seem to be born with an innate love of horses.

The heart of our riding lessons is in the wonderful staff at Rivendell Farm and the variety of horses available to fit every skill level and every child’s dream of what riding can be. We are passionate about horses and look forward to sharing our love of this incredible animal with new and experienced riders alike.

We not only teach your child to ride but to also respect and care for the horse and help them to develop a bond of friendship that will last a lifetime. From the beginning all the way up to the show ring, we offer instruction at every level and help your child achieve their own personal goal.

With our English and Western riding lessons, you will learn the basics of grooming and tacking up your horse. Beginning riders are given lead line instruction as well as developing skills at the walk, trot, and canter. We begin with the focus on balance and making sure you feel secure. You set the pace based on your experience level and confidence.

Beginner to Advance Jumping

Did you know; the largest group of horseback riders is adult women either trying the sport for the first time or getting back to horses after riding as a child?

Better than any exercise program, riding is both fun and a good healthy activity. Riding at Rivendell Farm provides a great challenge and a beautiful setting to carve out some much needed time for you. To those riders getting back into the sport, it’s never too late and once you step into the barn, those good memories will come flooding back and you’ll fall in love all over again.

Our horses are well trained and are suitable for the beginner all the way up to even the most experienced rider. You will never be asked to do something your not comfortable with, and you will find after a few short weeks of lessons at Rivendell Farm, you’ll be amazed at how much your skill level will progress..

We encourage parents to join in their children’s learning by taking riding lessons themselves!

Besides being a great activity for exercise, hoseback riding is a great way to bond with the family and create new friendships with other riders. A great benefit to riding is the ability to just have fun!
